Rental Policies and Payment
Reservations, Cancellation Policy: To secure your reservation with Cloud-Splitter you can send a 50% check deposit or give us your credit card information. If you choose to use a credit card we do not charge the card. Instead we hold the information in the event of a chargeable cancellation. If you cancel your reservation and we could have filled the same dates with another guest you will be charged the full amount for your stay. We will notify you if we have another guest interested in lodging on the same dates you have reserved. This is to make sure you understand the policy and to confirm that you still plan on staying with us. I you cancel and we can fill the same or all dates you reserved you will only be charged for the vacancy dates as a result of your cancellation.
Check-In: There is no need to “check-in” but feel free to come and see us if you like. In the summer our hours in the outfitter’s store are 10am to 5pm, but feel free to come to our house if you need anything after or before regular business hours. You will need to come to the house in the winter as we close the store.
Check-Out: We do ask that you let us know when you are leaving so we can complete the housekeeping requirements prior to the next guest arrival. Before you leave our facilities please make sure you leave it as you found it. You are responsible for cleaning the kitchen. All dishes need to be cleaned dried and put away. When we clean for our next guest we expect to strip bed and change the linens. (Please leave the beds that were used unmade or strip them if you prefer). We expect to clean the bathroom top to bottom and to vacuum the entire facility. Your help and cooperation is appreciated.
Payment Policy: If we have taken your credit card information and you want to pay for your lodging with the same card we still ask that you come in so we can physically run the card through our terminal. Card processing fees are high and it costs us more to key the information than it will if we swipe the card. If possible we prefer payment in cash or check so we can avoid the processing fees all together. You can pay for your balance due at any time during your stay of when you check out.
Damages: We are honest hard working people just like you, We can’t absorb damage cost like a big hotel chain. We expect our guests to self-report any damages and pay a reasonable replacement fee. Some items have personal value and are really irreplaceable, for example the owl in the Tamarack. Please do not touch or move the owl, it is quite old.
Firewood: Firewood is expensive to produce and is labor intensive. We charge $5.ºº per square.
Telephone: We only have one telephone line servicing all of our buildings. We have left an unplugged phone in both rentals. Plug it in to make outgoing calls but remember to unplug it after each use. You can leave our phone number with anyone who may need to get in contact with you and we will get any message to you ASAP. We expect to have Verizon wireless service near the end of July or early August. You can also get a cell signal in the town offices parking lot and at the scenic overlook.
Television: Both units have a television but do not receive regular broadcasting. They are equipped with a DVD player for watching movies.
wifi: You can connect to our WIFI network for texting or computer use. The password is available in each buildings information flyer. Unfortunately the Tamarack is out of range to receive a signal. So you must get closer to our house or the Pilot’s house to text.
In the Winter: Please keep the windows closed. As you can imagine, our heating overhead in the winter is substantial.
