is a four season outfitter that will provide quality outdoor recreational experiences for its customers.
will include guided camping, hiking, hunting, fishing, whitewater rafting, winter and summer mountain biking, flat water kayaking and canoeing, backcountry skiing – snowshoeing, and moving water kayaking and canoeing. NGS will also offer transportation for these activities and to and from bus stations, railroad stations, and airports. NGS will also rent some of its equipment inventory such as light weight canoes and preset outfitter campsites.

NGS is prepared and happy to provide “full service” for your outdoor experience. We will portage the watercraft, set up camp, prepare all your meals, and provide transportation as part of a full service experience. If you prefer to participate so you can acquire the skills, knowledge, and confidence on how to be independent, safe, and environmentally-friendly users of outdoor recreation our guides are ready to share their expertise. Participatory guest can evolve to continue outdoor recreation without the need of a guide service if they desire. NGS offers its services to anyone who desires an outdoor experience regardless of age or ability. Why should you choose NGS? We are a small company in which every guide is a members of the LLC, we are 100% employee owned. All of our equipment is up to date and in great condition. We care about the product we deliver and will give you’re the special attention you deserve.
Newcomb Guide Service has partner with the Town of Newcomb who will own and rent the equipment acquired from a TNC, DEC, NHT grant secured by the Town. Equipment being leased will include a 15 passenger van, outfitter’s wall tent with wood stove, cots, and sleeping pads, “Snow” or “Fat” bikes, hand held GPS units, tree stands, Light weight canoes, two whitewater rafts, a Drift Boat, and related equipment to manage a whitewater experience including rowing rigs for fishing and the transportation of equipment for overnight camping.
NGS partners with the Hoot Owl Lodge (Bed and Breakfast) to provide quality lodging for its guests. And, NGS partners with Cloudsplitter Outfitters LLC (Self-contained Cabins) to provide quality lodging for its guests, fill supplemental equipment needs, and to provide a physical presence on State Route 28 North as a base of operations.
Food and Drink
NGS partners with the Newcomb House Bar and Grill to provide food services in support of its activities. These partnership commitments will greatly enhance the experience of the guests and promote returning customers for additional excursions.

Areas of Operation
NGS primary area of operation will be the forest preserve within a 60 mile radius of the Newcomb town center. Areas of focus will be the Vanderwalker Wilderness Area, which includes Great Camp Santanoni, the Essex Chain of Lakes, the Hudson River from its birthplace in the Upper Works to North Creek, The Boreus Ponds Tract once acquired by the state, and the High Peaks Region Primarily form the southern approach trailhead in the Upper Works.
